On my first day of art, I mentioned that I purchased an Articket BCN. I highly recommend it. It gets you into six museums for 35€ plus you get to skip the line and just swan right up to the counter and go in!
Another one of my favourite museums in Barcelona is MACBA, the contemporary art museum. The architecture of the space is amazing and in addition to their standing collection they always have fantastic temporary exhibits.
This trip there was an amazing exhibit, Teresa Lanceta: Weaving as Open Source. The bright, bold and colourful tapestries and weavings were stunning in their size and creativity.
After getting some lunch, I took part in a great AirBnB experience highlighting Barcelona’s Hidden Street Art. I have done these kinds of experiences in Porto and Lisbon before and always find them a fascinating peak into the culture of a city.
The host Katrina walked us through the some of the different neighbourhoods in downtown Barcelona and secret messages behind the hidden artworks. One of the best parts was getting to stop in two galleries that specialize in selling the art work of the street artists.
