It’s trite to say that COVID-19 has changed the way we live, but it’s true. Many of the things that we had to take care of ourselves became unavailable given the public health measures put in place to help keep us safe.
In the before times I had set aside one Saturday a month for self care Saturday. I would put my dog Ace in daycare, see my massage therapist, have a nice lunch out and buy myself something pretty. The lunch and purchase didn’t have to be extravagant, it was just meant to be something special. I have always been grateful that I have benefits and the means to do this.
Over the course of the pandemic, it became one of the rituals that went by the wayside. I didn’t realize how much I missed it until I did it today. It gave me a renewed perspective of the importance of doing these small things to carry me through another month.
